National Archives Modernizes Processes for Reproduction Services
Effective October 1, 2025, the National Archives will discontinue the use of paper checks as a form of payment for several reproduction services. This modernization effort supports President Trump’s Executive Order 14247, Modernizing Payments to and From America’s Bank Account.
In addition, the following forms will be discontinued in physical paper format. The existing electronic versions will continue to be available:
– Digitized Microfilm/Microfiche Order – NATF36
– Passenger Arrival Records – NATF81
– Federal Census Records – NATF82
– Eastern Cherokee Applications – NATF83
– Federal Land Entry Files – NATF84
– Military Pension/Bounty Land Warrant Applications – NATF85
– (Pre-World War I) Military Service Records – NATF86
These are the first of several upcoming changes to improve the security of our customers’ financial data, reduce the time and materials required to process record reproduction requests, and better enable NARA to meet the needs of the public. If you have questions or concerns, contact trustfundsupport@nara.gov.
